Point Mobile's new PM500 is one of the first Android mobile POS (Point-of-Sale) terminals that meets industry-class durability. Featuring a variety of payment methods, the versatility the Android operating system offers, and a 0.8m drop resistance, PM500 reaches a broad range of markets from retail to last-mile delivery.
PM500's bright 5in touch screen makes it as easy to use as any modern consumer smartphone. An NFC reader on top allows for quick transactions, while the optional barcode scanner on the back collects 1D and 2D barcodes. Additionally, there's both a magnet stripe and IC card reader on the bottom of the terminal for payments as well as reading membership cards. The overall simple, flowing, and clean look lets PM500 fit in any environment including high-end shops in department stores.
Cashless payments are
increasing their market share quickly all around the globe, while
various types of payment standards are used. PM500 is capable of
utilizing all of them, such as PCI PTS 5.x, EMV (Contact L1&L2 /
Contactless L1 & Kernels) for safe and secure payment processes.
Once a payment is done, the built-in 2in thermal printer issues receipts
at a maximum speed of 85mm per second. Empty batteries because of long
working shifts are a problem
of the past: PM500 comes with a 3,000mAh battery which can be replaced
by the users on the go.
Optionally available is
a UHF RFID reader, as well as a rear camera with 8MP, extending PM500's
feature set even further.
